The Story of Census Council 241

In 2010, employees working at Census offices in Suitland, MD, Hagerstown, MD, Tucson, AZ and Jeffersonville, IN formed a bargaining council.

Our vision was, no matter where employees worked, we all would be treated as one, have meaningful work, and be treated with dignity and opportunity—so our members could enjoy community with their co-workers. Hence, AFGE Council 241 began.
